About the House of Rock Director:
Chad “Chadzilla” Johnson has been a member of the Swallow Hill
faculty since 2000, mainly as a drum teacher. He soon realized
the need for his private students to experience what he has
enjoyed for 30 years: the thrill and enjoyment of playing live
music with other musicians in a preferred style. With the help
of Michael Schenkelberg in 2007, the House of Rock was born.
With a great knowledge of rock and roll instruments and a
performing career in dozens of musical styles spanning more than
20 years, Chadzilla knows how to help young people learn,
prepare and enjoy the experience of musical camaraderie. He is
also a composer, producer and bandleader.
