Denver – Corinne West has been hailed for her
“voice of gold” by
Relix magazine, and called “A Siren of the Sierras” by Times-Herald.
A finalist at the 2005 Kerrville New Folk songwriting competition, Corinne comes
to Swallow Hill on Friday, November 24 at 8 p.m. to perform songs from her
critically acclaimed debut CD Bound For The Living.
Corinne West's voice has been
praised as “utterly spell-binding,” “radiant,” and “extraordinarily beautiful”
by critics across the globe. “Corinne's sweet singing captures the heart of
country.” Maverick magazine praises her voice as “Part velvet, part grit,
Corinne’s voice has a quality to it that is both achingly penetrating and highly
addictive” and continues to praise Corinne’s music as “cool, layered sound and
is utterly spell–binding. Even more impressive than Corinne’s obvious talent as
a singer and performer is her genius as a songwriter and lyricist.” Her
songwriting weaves its golden thread through roots music from country to
Americana, bluegrass, western and folk. “...I'd have to call it bluegrass, but
that's like calling Picasso a painter. This lady has a voice that simply soars
... you can't go wrong with this one. 5 STARS!!”– Don Grant, Freight Train
Boogie.
