Sara Hickman brings the sunny side of life to Swallow Hill

Denver – Dallas singer-songwriter, guitarist, artist and activist Sara Hickman comes to Swallow Hill with her new double CD Motherlode on Saturday, January 6 at 8 p.m. Rolling Stone magazine hails, "With a warm heart and insightful words ... her uplifting perspectives have the power to 'heal,' creating images of both negative and positive sides to the human condition."

A versatile songwriter, Sara has created 18 CDs to date including the new double album Motherlode and three children's albums. The Dallas Morning News praises, "Balancing pop hook-craft with heartfelt emotions and brilliant musicianship, Ms. Hickman chooses to celebrate life, rather than muddle in melancholy. Her voice remains like a force of nature." A winner of the prestigious Humana Women Helping Women Award for her help with Race for the Cure, Habitat for Humanity, Safe Place, House the Homeless and the SPCA among other animal rights and human rights organizations. She has been made an honorary member of the National Association of Music Therapy for her musical work.
