Denver – Legendary folk singer-songwriter, storyteller and guitarist, Tom Rush, called “magnificent,” “a knockout,” “fresh,” and a “timeless act,” returns to Swallow Hill on Friday, February 2 at 8 p.m. to perform some of his classic songs along with tunes from his new CD, Trolling for Owls.

A crowd-pleasing performer with the ability to reach across generations with his music, he has been praised for his warmth and appeal on stage. The Arizona Republic calls him “the king of the soft sound.” He has recorded 18 albums and counting, along with one DVD. Impacting American music since the 1960s folk revival, Tom has also been instrumental as a champion of up-and-coming singer songwriters by recording songs by Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor. In fact, in a Rolling Stone magazine interview James Taylor has said, “Tom was not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences.” Tom has also influenced well known country singer Garth Brooks among others. Of Tom’s performances of cover tunes, the Chicago Tribune claims that Tom is “probably the only man alive who should be allowed to sing Joni Mitchell songs.” Don’t miss this living folk revival legend as he returns to Swallow Hill.
