DENVER, COLO. (10/15/08) --  Swallow Hill is pleased to present acclaimed entertainer Loudon Wainwright III for an intimate performance at the historic Colfax Events Center, Colfax and Columbine Streets, on Friday, November 7 at 8 p.m. This event is sponsored by KBCO 97.3FM.

Born in Chapel Hill, N.C., Loudon grew up in Westchester, N.Y., participated in the Haight Ashbury Summer of Love in 1967 and began to write his own songs in 1968. Twenty albums and two Grammy nominations later, the songs he writes have been covered by greats including Johnny Cash and Earl Scruggs, and most recently by his talented son, Rufus Wainwright. The New York Times writes, "(he) wrings more human truth out of his contradiction than any other songwriter of his generation."

Multi-talented, Wainwright has also appeared on television series such as "Undeclared," "Ally McBeal," and "M*A*S*H," as well as in feature films including "Big Fish," "28 Days," "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "For Your Consideration," and "Knocked Up." He is also a published author, having written for The Guardian and The Independent newspapers in the UK. His new CD, Recovery, finds Wainwright revisiting some of his earliest work and teaming up once again with acclaimed producer, Joe Henry.
