Tish Hinojosa w/Amy Speace
Sat, Jan 9
Tish Hinojosa returns to Swallow Hill after almost five years. Hinojosa’s
music crosses borders – between cultures, languages and musical genres. Moving
with equal grace through folk, country, pop and Latino styles, her music
reflects contemporary America’s multicultural richness. Combining a vision that
embraces all of these musical styles, with her characteristic warmth and a pure,
soulful voice, this enchanting Texan singer-songwriter has gained a loving and
loyal audience throughout America, Europe and beyond.
Wendy Woo & Nina Storey w/Megan Burtt
Fri, Jan 15
One of our most popular concerts, Wendy Woo & Nina Storey are back on the
Swallow Hill stage. Multicultural in both heritage and outlook, Wendy Woo
displays a blend of soul, vibrancy and wild child attitude. Nina Storey’s songs
have been featured in both film and television. Nina has shared stages with the
likes of Etta James, Keb’ Mo, Ani DiFranco, Joan Osborne, Little Feat, The
Allman Brothers, INXS and Linda Rondstadt.
Pine Leaf Boys, co-presented by Friends of Cajun/Zydeco Music and Dance
Sat, Jan 16
Being described as, "... the link that connects the young and the old
generations," and "the best new, energetic, and fun Cajun band in a very long
time," the Pine Leaf Boys play the old fashion dance hall standards while making
a priority to bring many of the more obscure songs of past masters into their
repertoire and play them with gusto. The Pine Leaf Boys will also offer three
Cajun music workshops on Sun, Jan 17.
Richard Shindell w/Antje Duvekot
Fri, Jan 22
An expatriate New Yorker now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Richard
Shindell is a meticulous craftsman of song whose six studio albums and one live
recording have been revered by critics and fans alike. Shindell returns north
with an astonishing collection of covers called South of Delia, featuring
appearances by Lucy Kaplansky, Viktor Krauss, Richard Thompson, Tony Trischka
and Eliza Gilkyson among others.
Chuck Pyle CD Release w/Jeff Troxel
Sat, Jan 23
Admired as a sly humorist and an innovative guitarist, Chuck Pyle has
performed for the Colorado Legislature, on Austin City Limits, and at Bill
Gates' home. He has had his songs recorded by John Denver, Chris LeDoux, the
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Jerry Jeff Walker. He sees what is best about
America, writing songs about love lost and love found, forgetful cowboys, heroic
highway patrolmen, and brain stems gone "critical."
John Gorka
Sat, Jan 30
Long-time Swallow Hill regular John Gorka returns with music from his latest
CD, So Dark You See. His most compelling and traditional album to date,
John Gorka goes back to his '70s Gorfrey Daniels roots. His rich multi-faceted
songs full of depth, beauty and emotion have gained increasing attention from
critics and audiences across the U.S., as well as in Europe, where his tours led
him through Italy, Belgium, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Switzerland, and
Germany.
Dakota Blonde's Valentine's Day Celebration
Sat, Feb 13
An annual tradition at Swallow Hill, we are pleased to welcome all Blonde
Heads, old and new, to Dakota Blonde’s Valentine’s Day Celebration. The vibrant
harmony trio of Mary Huckins, Don Pinnella and Tony Raddell return with their
down-to-earth, sentimental and humorous tunes that reflect their influences of
folk, bluegrass and country.

Guy Clark
Wed, Feb 17 at L2 Arts & Event Center (Colfax & Columbine, Denver)
Songwriting legend Guy Clark doesn't merely compose songs; he projects images
and characters with the kind of hands-on care and respect of a literary master.
Using everyday language to construct extraordinary songs for more than 35 years,
Clark continues to be the type of songwriter whom young artists study and
seasoned writers, as well discriminating listeners, revere.
