DENVER (11/03/09) -- Swallow Hill Music and the Mile High Business Alliance present Cliff Eberhardt and Chris Daniels in a special event to kickoff the annual "Buy Local Week," a campaign designed to promote and impact the economic well being of the region, on Saturday, November 6, starting at 6 p.m.

Local business owners, community leaders and lovers of all things local will gather to kick off the campaign (which spans November 30 to December 6) and enjoy local food and music. The event will start with a reception, include a great live auction to benefit the work of the Mile High Business Alliance, and finish with performances by Cliff Eberhardt and Denver's own Chris Daniels.

"Locally owned businesses are vital for building a healthy, resilient economy," says Mickki Langston, Executive Director of the Mile High Business Alliance. "Our local business owners are more connected to our community and help make Denver a great city." Dozens of local businesses and organizations are participating in the 3rd Annual Buy Local Week with special promotions and neighborhood-oriented events throughout the week. A driving force of the Greenwich Village New Folk movement and well-known among his peers, Cliff Eberhardt's songs have been covered by the likes of Richie Havens, Buffy St. Marie, Erasure, Lucy Kaplansky and the folk superstar band, Cry, Cry, Cry. Called “One of the most talented musicians on the solo acoustic circuit...” (Seattle Post-Intelligencer), Eberhardt is a self-taught player whose early influences include the works of James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Muddy Waters and Cole Porter.
