DENVER (11/03/09) -- Swallow Hill Music and the Mile High Business Alliance
present
in a special event to kickoff the annual "Buy Local Week," a campaign designed
to promote and impact the economic well being of the region, on Saturday,
November 6, starting at 6 p.m.
Local business owners, community leaders and lovers of all
things local will gather to kick off the campaign (which spans November 30
to December 6) and enjoy local food and music. The event will start with a
reception, include a great live auction to benefit the work of the Mile High
Business Alliance, and finish with performances by Cliff Eberhardt and
Denver's own Chris Daniels.
"Locally owned
businesses are vital for building a healthy, resilient economy," says
Mickki Langston, Executive Director of the Mile High Business Alliance.
"Our local business owners are more connected to our community and help
make Denver a great city." Dozens of local businesses
and organizations are participating in the 3rd Annual Buy Local Week
with special promotions and neighborhood-oriented events throughout the

A driving force of the Greenwich Village New Folk movement and
well-known among his peers, Cliff Eberhardt's songs have been covered by
the likes of Richie Havens, Buffy St. Marie, Erasure, Lucy Kaplansky and the
folk superstar band, Cry, Cry, Cry. Called “One of the most talented
musicians on the solo acoustic circuit...” (Seattle Post-Intelligencer),
Eberhardt is a self-taught player whose early influences include the works of
James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Muddy Waters and Cole Porter.
