Dear Friend,

Many of you have noticed that the chairs in Daniels Hall are a bit cramped; if you've ever attended a concert on a summer night, you've noticed that it can get pretty warm in there as well. Through the tremendous generosity of one of our Friends of Swallow Hill, we have the opportunity to change all of that through a $25,000 challenge grant. Over the past eight weeks, we've been promoting our "Chair and Air" Campaign-an all-out effort to raise the matching $25,000 to be able to replace the current 18-inch chairs with 21-inch chairs and double the air conditioning capacity in Daniels.

I'm proud to announce that we have already raised $16,000 which leaves us only $11,000 to go -that's 60% of the way there. BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP. Each $100 donation you make "purchases" a chair, and you'll get donor recognition as well.  All donations are tax deductible, so you'll be even happier in April. But more importantly, you'll be giving back to our community and making your experience and those of your fellow Swallow Hill patrons match the world-class quality of our performers and our Hall.

I know that it's still a challenging economic environment, but with your dedication and support, we'll work together to make Swallow Hill an even better place to see the finest in acoustic, roots and folk music. We can, and will, do this together. I'm particularly proud to also make you aware that 100% of all Swallow Hill Board members have already contributed-many of whom already made significant other donations through the past year. We're not just begging you for support-we're putting our own money where our mouth is.

There are so many ways for you to support us: buying concert tickets, being a student of our school, joining as a member, stepping up to the donation level to be a "Friend of Swallow Hill" and responding to our Annual Giving Campaign which is also just underway. Please take a moment to consider making an extra donation of one, two or even five or more chairs. Together we'll take Swallow Hill into an even better place in the next decade.

Thanks again for all you do for our community, and I look forward to meeting you at a future Swallow Hill program.
